We’re excited to finally release the public beta for TUF Play!

What is TUF Play?

TUF Play is a singleplayer ranked mode that measures adaptability, consistency, and performance under pressure.

Instead of testing how well you can grind a single chart, TUF Play challenges you with randomized chart sets and only one attempt per chart. Your rank is determined by how consistently you perform across different skillsets.

Whether you're a beginner just starting out or a veteran player looking for a fresh challenge, TUF Play is designed for everyone.

How Matches Work

When a match begins, the system randomly selects 5 charts appropriate for your TUF Play rank.

1. You ban 1 chart.
2. The Cat the system) bans 1 chart.
3. The remaining 3 charts become your match set.

You then play the 3 charts one after another, with only one attempt per chart. All charts are played with Strict, No-Fail settings.

After each chart, you get a short break to rest and adjust your offset if needed. The next chart's information is shown during this break, and you can start early by holding the spacebar.

Once all 3 charts have been completed, the points from each run are added together and displayed on the final results screen.

How to Access TUF Play

Press Ctrl + Shift + P in-game to open TUF Play.

Main Menu

When clicking Play, you’ll be able to:

• View your current rank
• Enter Ranked Mode
• Enter Unranked Mode
• Return to the main menu

Ranked Mode

Ranked Mode is the primary TUFplay experience. Compete in randomized chart sets to earn points and climb the ranks. Your TUFplay rank will be displayed on your TUF Profile in a future update.

Important Note

• Leaving a ranked session after the 5 levels have already been selected will result in a -6 point penalty
• This exists to prevent rerolling for easier level selections

Unranked Mode

Unranked Mode acts as the practice mode for TUF Play.

Features include:

• Browse all TUF Play levels for a selected rank
• Choose exactly how many levels you want to play
• Queue selected levels consecutively
• Disable “Select Levels” to play a standard randomized match for that rank

Inside the settings menu, you can configure:

• Audio Offset
• Audio Buffer Size
• TUF Play Rank (playtesting only)
• Language Support (English, Chinese, and Korean available, AI translated)
• Show Overlay
• Overlay Settings
• TUFPlay menu music volume
